NQCG is supporting the development of descriptors for broad groups of nanomaterials and nanotechnology vocabularies for use in database development, big data processing, analysis and integration. Example nanocarbon nomenclatures are used for integration of physical/chemical properties and data in computational ontologies. Building model ontologies is a good method to test nomenclatures. For example, integration of numerical data requires a more specific nomenclature than qualitative properties.
