People with extensive international experience and broad relations in the academia, industry and finance sectors represent NQCGs Board of Directors.

Axel P. Mustad, Chairman of the Board of Directors

Field of expertise: Value Exchange Systems.

Axel P. Mustad is Founder and Chairman of Nordic Quantum Computing Group AS. He has spent significant time over the last decade researching experimental market mechanisms pertaining specifically to future and emerging technologies, then with a special emphasis on intellectual assets in complex innovation systems.

He was active in the formation of the Norwegian National Technical Committee on Standardization for Nanotechnology (SN/K 298 Nanotechnology, Standards Norway) and has since its inauguration served as Chairman of SN/K 298 (Norwegian Mirror Committee to ISO/TC 229 Nanotechnologies and CEN/TC 352 Nanotechnology), and serves as Chairman of the Norwegian Electrotechnical Committee on Nanotechnology Standardization for Electrical and Electronic Products and Systems (NEK/NK 113 – Nanotechnology), the Norwegian Mirror Committee to the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) Technical Committee on Nanotechnology Standardization for Electrical and Electronic Products and Systems (IEC/TC 113 – Nanotechnology). He is the IEC/TC 113 Liaison Officer to IEC/TC 1 (Terminology), and the Leader of IEC/TC 113 Task Group “Vocabulary Coordination Group” (VCG) which is handling all terms and definitions for nanotechnology standards developed within IEC/TC 113 and between IEC/TC 113 and ISO/TC 229.

He is a Member of the Task Group on Exchangeable Materials Data Representation to support Scientific Research and Education, The Committee on Data for Science and Technology (CODATA), International Council for Science (ICSU). He is a Member of the Core Group in CODATA-VAMAS (CODATA and The Versailles Project on Advanced Materials and Standards) Joint Working Group (CVJWG) on the Description of Nanomaterials, and a Member of the US-EU NanoEHS Dialogue, Databases and Ontology CoR (Community of Research). He is representing The Norwegian Academy of Science and Letters in areas related to development of standard description and classification systems for nano science and nanotechnology and is appointed by the academy to represent Norway in the International Council for Science (ICSU) related to the description of nanomaterials.

He is a Member of the International Advisory Board of EU FP7 MARINA — Managing Risks of Nanomaterials, and serves as National Advisor and Member of NANoREG Advisory and Regulatory Board — EU FP7 NANoREG — A common European approach to the regulatory testing of Manufactured Nanomaterials. He is also a Member of the Scientific Advisory Board of EU FP7 eNanoMapper — NanoSafety Ontology for Modelling and Risk Assessment. He sits on the Management Committee of the MODENA COST initiative (Modelling Nanomaterial Toxicity) supported by COST, an intergovernmental framework for European Cooperation in Science and Technology, which allows the coordination of nationally-funded research on a European level.

He provides strategic advisory to key nanotechnology stakeholders from across the globe, helping these to think systematically about future technoeconomic and technopolitical systems.
